Well, I am ok but I did get the hell scared out of me. I was not on the
clock and luckily no one else was in the car. Anyway here it is from the
beginning.
I was on my way to the pet store and I was driving down a hilly road with
allot of trees. The wind was at 25mph with guest clocked at 40, anyway.
I was going down the road when a motorcycle illegally passed me. I laughed
at myself because I did not see him and he startled me. I then watched him
pass a motorcycle in front of me. Then WHAM!
I saw a tree branch fall from a tree and hit my windshield. This thing had
to be 5 inches around and big enough to cover both lanes. I let off the gas
coasted down a hill and then pull off so I could turn around. My windshield
was shattered and had a hole in the middle. Two thoughts were in my head. I
was just wishing I had my old bike and the guy who passed me and the guy
in front of me would have been toast. And, I am only three blocks from my
house I do not want to wait for a tow truck!
So After turning around I pull up behind a car that was stopped where this
happened. The noise must have been loud because some people were running
from
their house. Cars were stopped both ways to clean off the street. I just sat
in my glass covered car and yelled out my window "I would get out and help
but I am the one who got hit! I am going home!' Man that was a long 3
blocks. Every time the wind blew the glass creaked.
Lucky for me I have a dad with an extra car. I also have a $500 deductible
and friends that can fix it for a fraction of the "estimated" cost
so
hopefully I can break even. As for me, my right arm is speckled with little
welts, luckily I was wearing a hat and the bill took what would have been in
my face.
Updated looking back.
The car was totaled out. On a basic level I lived that thing. It was great and not bad on the gas milage. on the other hand it at tires but it would have been paid off.
